When an existing product is not the right solution, we build one.
Byte Optimizer designs and builds custom software, APIs, integrations, automation and security tooling for organizations with a specific technical problem. The engineers who build our own products build yours, with security designed in from the first commit.
What we build.
Not every problem fits a SaaS subscription. These are the kinds of things we take on.
Internal business applications
Tools your team uses every day, built around how you actually work instead of how a vendor assumed you would.
APIs and integrations
Well-documented APIs and the glue between systems that were never meant to talk to each other.
Security automation
Pipelines that scan, triage, alert and remediate, so security work stops depending on someone remembering to do it.
Security and developer tooling
Scanners, checks, CLIs and internal platforms that make the secure path the easy path for engineers.
Cloud and SaaS applications
Multi-tenant products and cloud services, from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
Prototypes and proofs of concept
A working version quickly, to test an idea with real users before committing to a full build.
How a project runs.
-
Define the problem
A short discovery to pin down what needs to exist, what does not, and how success is measured.
-
Propose
Written scope, architecture, timeline, and a fixed price or phased budget with clear milestones.
-
Build in increments
Working software early and often, reviewed with you, so direction can change before it is expensive.
-
Harden
Security review and testing before release. We are a security company; this step is not optional.
-
Hand over
Documentation, deployment and a clean handover, with maintenance and support if you want it.
What we are, and what we are not.
We are not an outsourcing shop that takes any ticket at an hourly rate. We take on problems where engineering judgment matters, and where security is part of the requirement rather than an afterthought.
That focus comes from building our own products. OnScanner and AgentPadlock are designed, built and run by the same team that will work on your project, with the same standards for architecture, testing and security.
Custom technology FAQ.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Problems where engineering judgment matters: internal business applications, APIs and integrations, automation, security tooling, developer tools, cloud applications and prototypes. Security is part of every build, not an add-on.
Is this only for security projects?
No. Many of our custom projects are security related, because that is where our depth is, but we also build general business software and automation. If it is a real technical problem we can reason about, we are happy to talk.
How is a custom project priced?
After a short discovery we send a written proposal with scope, architecture, timeline and either a fixed price or a phased budget with clear milestones. Nothing is billed before you agree to it.
Who owns what you build?
Ownership, licensing and hand-over are agreed in writing in the proposal, before any work starts, so there are no surprises at the end of the project.
Can you maintain it after launch?
Yes. Maintenance, monitoring and ongoing development can be scoped into the proposal or agreed after launch.
Have a problem that needs building?
Describe it in a few sentences. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right team, and what it would take.
